Palmar Sunglasses fue fundada en el 2017 por los hermanos Jay, Owen y Jose desde Mayagüez, PR. La idea comenzó un día cuando se dieron cuenta que el mercado de las gafas de sol estaba siendo mayormente dominado por una compañía grande lo cual no trabajaban estilos modernos y colorantes. Es cuando se dieron a la tarea de crear y diseñar sus propias gafas teniendo en mente la cultura y raíces boricuas.
